If you run Setup from the root of DVD Office 2013 that contains 32-bit and 64-bit version of Office 2013, the installation is as follows:

• On a computer with a supported 32-bit version of Windows is 32-bit version of Office 2013.
• On a computer with a supported 64-bit version of Windows, the installer checks whether there are 64-bit Office applications

For 64 Bit, performs the following actions:
If your computer does not have 64-bit applications Office, it installs the 32-bit version of Office 2013. 32-bit version of Office 2013 is installed by default in 64-bit operating system Windows (using WOW). This is also true when upgrading an existing 32-bit configuration Office.

Windows 8 is the codename for the upcoming new operating system of Microsoft Windows that follows Windows 7.
