Suicide car bomb kills six soldiers in Kabul; 5 U.S. troops among dead; White House condemns Taliban

The White House strongly condemned a massive Taliban suicide bombing that blew up a NATO convoy in Kabul Tuesday, killing five US soldiers, a Canadian soldier and a dozen Afghans at a bus stop.

"While our troops are fighting for a better future for the Afghan people, the Taliban offers only destruction," White House spokesman Bill Burton said.

"They have so little respect for humanity they would murder Afghan civilians waiting for a bus."

Afghan President Hamid Karzai, recently back from a trip to Washington, called the attack as "heartbreaking."
